marine environmental violations
19/8/2026
The Environment Public Authority calls on boat owners and sea-goers to refrain from disposing of waste or any kind of litter in the marine environment.
Simple actions today can make a significant impact in protecting wildlife and preserving our marine resources for future generations.
Disposing of waste or litter in the marine environment is considered a violation under Article (143) of the Environmental Protection Law. Penalties include a financial fine, with the boat subject to confiscation in the event of a repeated violation. The boat may also be detained until the fine is paid.
